Ladies and Gentlemen,

Over the past few months Guild Wars Guru has been getting advertising spam in many sections. They are fairly easy to recognize and to go and report them. Many of them have to do with lewd websites and should be reported immediately. If you see any type of advertisment thread or pr0n thread, please report it ASAP. (Use the red triangle that is underneath the user's information)

Now onto the real point:
These advertisment threads, even IF they do not get deleted right away after you report them SHOULD NOT BE POSTED IN!!! When you post in these threads it just bumps them back up to the top. If a thread is not deleted soon let it fall to the next page. You should report it but DON'T POST IN IT! Yes it would be great if it would be deleted right after it gets reported BUT the mods and admins do have lives. They can not be on here 24/7 just waiting for ad threads to pop up. Also for all you +1 or inb4close posters, these threads get DELETED therefore your +1 is no longer counted. Also here in the OTA, THERE IS NO POST COUNT, everytime you post you get +0. So please DO NOT POST IN THESE THREADS

Agree'd. I always report them though, but I hovered my mouse over a thread and saw the text ''meatspin'' and ''lemon party.jpg'' stuff, I'm not going in there.

This isn't about a lack of reporting, it's more aimed towards those that feel a need to post in the threads.

Ya, I've especially noted a good amount or pron threads lol. Everyday theirs about 2 to 3 in this section.

We the mods get to them when we can. What you the user can do is report them and just wait. Theres nothing beyond that you can do unless you go to IRC and happen to catch an admin lurking around.

Well I've never posted in them, but I notice people doing it very often yes, I always thought of acknowledging them that it's pointless, but then I'd just be another poster in the thread.

If you could be bothered, you could PM them, but they'd probably ignore you anyway.

Yes their is, but many people don't read the stickies and do not realize that their is no longer post count here in the OT. I only made this because I am getting sick and tired of seeing people post in them. I know Slayer has PM'd his fair share of users who have done so, and I myself have PM'd a few about not doing it. I got tired of seeing it so I figured a new thread might help. But who knows.

You know Unlucky, if you OTA mods don't have enough time to delete the threads, you can make me a mod ^^ because I'm on guru most of the time xD.

But Pwnd is right, more and more people thinks that +1 still exist in OTA and bother posting in porn threads or advertisement.

I think GWGuru needs one of those anti-spambot thing when registering. You know, where you see a somewhat vague image with letters and/or numbers in it, and you have to type it in a box to complete the registration. That'd stop a lot of those annoying spambots.

The information in there is very good - however the title of the thread is pointless. It needs to be "DO NOT reply to porn or advertising posts - report them!"

That way, the title is informative without even reading the post.

I think that has been suggested before and ya it is a great idea. I'm not sure why they haven't implemented it. I mean everyone wanted BBCcode, and after much whining got it. Maybe we just need to whine more about it.

Concur. That would be a good idea as well, just by looking at it people would know not too. Of course no matter what we do people will still post in them. Maybe we should make a sticky that says NO POST COUNT HERE! or something to scare them!

so lets get a NO POST +1 on the top of off topic....

and change the name of the stickied ad sticky

and IF people do post on the porn/ad/etc threads---they should 1st get a warning, and 2nd a short ban for posting in the wrong threads (just like in ventaris

etc) that would certainly slow them down...you'dthink

(and if you need more mods.....I LOVE to ban people and send nasty-grams----just let me know!)

Now the real reason I'm posting is to find out where this red triangle I Pwned You mentioned is. I've tried looking for it, but either I'm colour blind or it's not there

The red triangle is underneath the users information. If you look in the thread concerning the Advertisments you will see a picture of it. It will be next to the circle that tells other users if this user is online or not.

Should be right over here.
